It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing (January 2, 2024) of Frederick J. Crane, The Second. Fred was born on July 12, 1954 the youngest child and only son of Virginia Harriet English Crane and Frederick J. Crane. Fred was raised in Elmsford, NY. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School. Fred was a proud graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains. He attended Westchester Community College and served as General Manager of Knollwood Country Club before later taking a managerial position with the AT&T Corporation. All who knew Fred were aware of his enjoyment of fine dining, his high expectation of every venue and his discussions regarding each dining experience. Fred was a collector of antiques and donated his antique Christmas Tree Pin Collection to the Tarrytown Library. Fred enjoyed many pleasant sunny days shopping and socializing with the antique dealers in Cold Spring. Fred's favorite place of travel was to Hawaii, where he spent several cherished vacations. Throughout his life, Fred maintained many friendships. Fred regarded his extended family and cousins amoung his best friends. Fred and his sister Mary Ellen would often speak about the love and pride they felt for their nephew Brian Nelsen and his children. Fred was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Alice Marie Crane Nelson, Eileen Crane Woodhull, Karen Crane and his cousins Mary Beth English and Gabriel Hayes III. He is survived by his sister Mary Ellen Crane Colli (Peter), nephew Brian Nelsen, his great nieces and nephews Liam, Maya, Kiley, Caelan and Leo, and many cousins, especially Tom Cunningham.
