Frank ( Sonny) J. Vallaro 89, of Valhalla, N.Y. and most recently of Baldwin Place, N.Y. died on March 12, 2021. Frank was a family man who valued his home life and worked hard to provide for his loving wife and children. Frank was a very resilient man, surviving three different types of cancer and COVID-19. He passed peacefully in his sleep. He was born on March 23, 1931 to the late Michael and Anna (nee DeMeo) Vallaro in White Plains, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. He attended St. John’s Catholic Elementary School in White Plains, White Plains High School and Iona College in New Rochelle and later went on to American Institute of Banking. After his tour of duty with the US Marines, he went on to follow his career in banking, rising to Asst. VP with Bankers Trust Co. of NY in Chappaqua, N.Y. In 1953 he married Margaret Lomuscio, the love of his life at Mount Carmel Church in White Plains, N.Y. on Oct. 17, 1953. They were blessed with four children, Paul (Lynn) Vallaro of Mohegan Lake, N.Y., Guy (Karen) Vallaro of Sutton, Mass., Marty (Candi) Vallaro of Harrison, N.Y. and Lauren-Anne Vallaro-Macaluso of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. along with Edward DeMeo, cousin and brother. Also survived by his twelve cherished grandchildren, Paul, Jr. (Alex), Kelly Valera (Luis), Adam, Timothy and Jared Macaluso, Francesca, Matthew, Michael and Alexander Vallaro, Joseph, Victoria and Anthony Vallaro and great grandchildren, Meaghan and Brandon Valera and Faith and Mia Vallaro. Predeceased by his brother, Michael Vallaro, Jr. and sisters, Mary Louise Sciliano and Frances Vallaro. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y. The family would like to thank the many EMTS, Nurses, Doctors and Caregivers who have shown much love, laughter and compassion to Frank.
