Frank A. Lombardi 90, most recently of Elmsford, N.Y. and a former longtime resident of Mt.Vernon, N.Y. died on March 21, 2011. He was born on July 13, 1920 to the late George and Jessie (nee Candido) Lombardi in Mt.Vernon, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Frank was a retired Life Insurance Salesman with Metropolitian Life Ins. Co. with various locations in the Westchester County Area and was a recipient of the 1982 Fred E. Hamilton Award and other awards during his career for over thirty years. He was also active with the Boy Scouts of America as troop leader and district commissioner and also a member of the Elks Club of Mt.Vernon and the Knights of Columbus. Frank also loved music and played with the Big Bands. Frank was predeceased by his devoted wife Rosemary(Biondolillo) Lombardi in 1990 and his one brother Pasquale Lombardi. He is survived by his loving children; Frank, Jr. (Jennifer) of Berkeley Lake, GA., James (Mary) of Eastchester, N.Y., Robert (Erica) of New Fairfield, Conn. and Linda Paulo (Joseph) of Elmsford, N.Y. one sister, Carmella Pappas (Leo) of Mt.Vernon, N.Y. Also survived by his three cherished grandchildren; Christopher, Carrie and Jessica Lombardi and four step grandchildren. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday 4-8 PM. where funeral services will be held on Thursday 10 AM. Interment Private.
