Frank J. Candrea

Frank J. (Chick) Candrea 88, of North White Plains, N.Y. died on June 3, 2010 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, N.Y. He was born on June 11, 1921 to the late Gaetano and Anna Candrea in White Plains, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Chick was a former Fire Commissioner with the North Castle South Fire District #1, past president of the Kensico Little League, a lifelong member of the Roma AC in White Plains, N.Y. and a member of the American Legion Post # 1097 in Armonk, N.Y. He was a salesman with Mt. Kisco Plumbing Supply in Mt.Kisco. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Angelina (nee DeLeo) Candrea in 1983. Chick is survived by his cherished companion of eighteen years Betty Hogan of Greenwich, Conn. His three loving sons; Frank T. and his wife Bonnie of Yonkers, N.Y., Thomas J. and his wife Mary of Northford, Conn. and Robert J. and his wife Cheryl of North White Plains, N.Y. one brother Nick (Sonny) Carpentieri and his wife Carol of Valhalla, N.Y. and one sister Lena Capasso of Hollywood, Fla. Also survived by his seven cherished grandchildren; Robbie (Dahiana), Kayla Rose, Jamie, Keith, Kristie, Patrick and Patricia and one great grandson Joseph-Shea. He was an avid golfer, bowler and Yankee Fan. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Saturday 7-9 PM. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Monday 10 AM.
