Francesco Tassone 73, of White Plains, N.Y. known as "Ciccio" by those closest to him, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was born on Dec.4, 1937, in San Vito Sull'Ionio, Italy, the second child of Vito Tassone and Maria Teresa Lamberti-Tassone. A carpenter and cabinet maker by trade, Mr. Tassone emigrated to Venezuela in 1958 and settled in the town of Barinas. It was there that he met his companion, Maria Velazquez, had two daughters, and ran a cabinetry and
furniture making business. In 1986, he emigrated to the United States and settled in White Plains. Retired from White Birch Builders of Greenwich, CT, Ciccio enjoyed raising a vegetable garden, making homemade wine, and spending time in the company of relatives and his cherished friends, the brethren of the Antonio Meucci Lodge of the Order of Sons of Italy. Mr. Tassone is predeceased by his dear sister Caterina ("Rina") Tassone-D'Agostino in Italy, and is survived by his daughters, Maria Teresa Glynn (John) of Yorktown Heights, Elizabeth Tassone-Downs of Pawling, grandson Edward Downs (affectionately known as "Baby Boy" and brother Joseph Tassone, Sr. (Rose)
of North White Plains. He is also survived by nephews Vito Tassone (Santina) of Valhalla, Joseph Tassone, Jr. (Kimberly) of Armonk, nieces, Laura Peller (Michael) of White Plains, Rosella D'Agostino-Sgambellone (Domenico) and Luisa D'Agostino-
Martone ( Corrado) of Ciampino, Italy, Annamaia D'Agostino-Ruggirello of Novara, Italy, and four grand-nephews and six grand-nieces. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Thursday, 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady of Mt.Carmel Church, White Plains, N.Y. on Friday 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to St.Jude Childrens Hospital
