Frances G. Lawless-Ray

Frances G. Lawless-Ray, passed away on August 6th 2021. She was born in was in the Bronx, New York attaining a BS degree in Elementary Education from Fordham University and Master’s degree in Special Education.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband John Arthur Ray Jr., her daughters: Claire Severa, Helen Lawless, Nancy Magee-Lawless and son-in-law, Patrick Magee iii. Her siblings: Luke Grande and his wife Hope Grande, her sister Marie Hafenecker. Her nephews and nieces: Raymond and his wife Kathy Ahern-Hafenecker, Michael Hafenecker, Paul Hafenecker (her grand nephew), Luci Grande-Riegel and John Grande.

Frances taught children in the Bronx, Peekskill, and White Plains before working for over 33 years as the Principle Head Special Education Teacher at Westchester County Medical Center, Psychiatric Institue in Valhalla, N.Y. She had an outgoing and a charismatic personality, often transmitting her great wisdom and love through humour. She was an avid racquetball player, reader and bowler.  She had many wonderful adventures travelling the world with the love of her life, and her soul mate, John.

Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday 10 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 4 PM. Where Funeral Services will be held at 2:45 PM.
