Frances (Russell) Hill

Surrounded by her beloved family, Frances Eileen Hill (nee Russell), age 96, passed away on January 9th peacefully at home in Pleasantville, NY.

Frances was born July 19th, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine (O’Reilly) Russell. On July 5th, 1945, Frances married Thomas D. Hill Jr. and later settled in Pleasantville with their five children. Known as ‘Nana’ to eight grandchildren, eleven great-children and many friends whom she welcomed as family.

Frances lived her life with love, compassion, and an open door. She found joy in being surrounded by a house full of family and friends. There was always room at the table for anyone who wanted to stay and a room could usually be found at the, “Hill Hotel”.

She is survived by her four daughters Nancy Leo (Michael), Judith Kresge, Carol Valentine, Laura Sulli (Andre), her eight grandchildren, and her eleven great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas, her son Tom, son-in-law Lee Valentine, and her siblings Charles Russell, Richard Russell, and Betty Smith.
