Frances R. Eisner

EISNER-Frances, 97,  formerly of Bronx and New Rochelle, N.Y. “flew away” peacefully on August 19. Beloved wife of Nathaniel; mother of Susan, Wendy and Mark; mother-in-law of Tricia; grandmother of four. Life force and force of nature, resilient and eternal optimist, first-generation American whose ground-breaking advocacy for equity and justice transformed neighborhoods and lives. Her integrity was mirrored by boundless passions from arts and culture, to gaming and gardening. Most of all was her love of people, rooted in radiant devotion to family. Her life exemplified the resonant phrase “L’Chaim,” and that there is no impossible dream. She is deeply loved, and shall be ever missed.
