Florence Louise Johnson, a resident of New Rochelle and formerly of White Plains, died on July 17, 2011. She was 104.
Mrs. Johnson was born on May 16, 1907 in New York City to the late Emil and Pauline (Hubner) Mook. Florence loved all animals, gardening, reading, and writing poetry. Staff members at the Glen Island Care Center dubbed her "Miss Hollywood"� due to her love of wearing jewelry and dressing up.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Mook Weisner of CT; her nephew Peter Weisner and his wife Linda of MA and their children Peter and Cindy. She is pre-deceased by her husbands Warren Sarles and Charles Johnson; her brothers Ernest and Emil Mook and Lendon Griffin; and her cousin Dorothy Taylor.
Visiting Wednesday 1pm to 2pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains. Interment will follow at White Plains Rural Cemetery.
Aunt Florence is finally going home. Rest in Peace.
