Flora LeDuca Kennedy, 84, of Airmont, NY, passed away on February 5, 2023.
Flora, known to all as Dutchy, was born in 1938 to her parents, Nancy and Joseph LeDuca in the Bronx, NY. She had 3 children and raised them in Mahopac, NY before eventually relocating to Carmel and Airmont. She worked for Gannett Newspapers for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family sharing stories of long ago, cooking italian favorites, knitting and reading. Dutchy loved hearing the latest stories of her grandchildren, grand nieces, and grand nephews and their antics. The more the frustrated the parent... the more Dutchy smiled in delight.
She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her sister, Kathleen McCarron, cousin Priscilla (Dominick) Forte and her children and their spouses, Lee Ann (Todd) Scheer, Kathy (Roy) Morchian and Rod (Fawn) Kennedy. She had 6 treasured grandchildren, Katie, Lizzie, Stephen, Brendan, R.J. and Remington. She adored her nieces Kerry (Gregg) Garneau, Nancy (Frank) Earley, Dana Forte, and her 5 great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, February 17th at 11 am at the Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in the Gate of Heaven cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alice's Kids in memory of Flora Kennedy at their website: aliceskids.org.
