Fay Mahony

Fay Mahony 85, of Valhalla, N.Y. died on Dec.17, 2016. She was born on Sept.6, 1931 to the late Walter and Edna Weiss in North Branch, N.Y. Fay was raised on a Dairy Farm in Callicoon Center in Sullivan County, N.Y. where she worked the farm including driving the tractor at age 8. After graduating from Jeffersonville Central High School in 1948, Fay was employed by the New York Telephone Company and later married and became a homemaker. She had a passion for dancing and took dancing lessons at Rose's School of Dance into her 70's and preformed at yearly recitals. Fay was predeceased by her devoted husband, Thomas Mahony in 2010 and one deceased sister, Joan Redington and her daughter in law, Rosemarie. She is survived by her loving children, Michael Mahony of Katonah, N.Y. and Naples, Fla. Sharon (Michael) Mahony Davidson of Hornell, N.Y. and Kathleen (Charles) Mahony Brunke of Putnam Valley, N.Y. Also survived by her seven cherished grandchildren; Thomas A. Mahony, Kelley (Bryan) Mahony Romanowicz, Sandi Fay, Laura (Dave) Mebs, Eric Davidson, William Brunke ( and Fiancee Christina Walsh) and Christopher Brunke and three great grandchildren; Colin and Sean Romanowicz and Reagan Mebs. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Thursday, 10 AM. Interment Private.
