Evelyne Leeds Cerrone

Evelyne Leeds Cerrone of Briarcliff Manor, NY passed away on March 27, 2011. She was 64. Mrs. Cerrone worked as the office manager for Glen Tompkins Insurance in Ossining . She was with the company for the past 25 years. Evelyne was born August 10, 1946 in Atlantic, NJ to Frank and Helen Christensen Leeds. She attended Kings College, Briarcliff Manor. In her earlier years she performed on stage singing for opening acts in Atlantic City. On November 26, 1966 she married Robert L. Cerrone in Atlantic City. Evelyne lived in Briarcliff Manor since 1969. Locally she was a parishioner of St. Theresa Church where she served on the parish council, taught CCD and also served as a eucharistic minister. She was a past president of the ladies auxiliary of the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department and the PTA in Briarcliff Manor. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed her many visits to Disney with her family and was called " Grandma Minnie". She is survived by her husband Robert L. Cerrone of Briarcliff Manor, two sons Robert (Courtney) Cerrone of Bellport, LI and Frank Cerrone of Briarcliff Manor, two Daughters Andrea (Mark) Barbalato of Briarcliff Manor and Melanie (Tyler) Lee of Gambrills, Md. 6 grandchildren Julia and Caroline Barbalato, Morgan and Raeghan Lee, and Caden and Trace Cerrone. One brother Rev. Frank Leeds III of St. Petersburg, Fl. Calling hours are on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY . The funeral is Friday 10 am at St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
