Evelyn C. Byrnes

Evelyn Byrnes, 92 of Bronx, N.Y. died peacefully on March 29, 2020 at the Cortlandt Healthcare Nursing Home.  She was born July 14, 1927 to the late Francis and Jennie (nee Vallily) Flock in the Bronx, N.Y.  She worked for many years for the Rockefeller Company as their switchboard operator.  She is survived by three loving children, Joan Malone of Cortlandt Manor, NY, Peter (Betty) Byrnes of Riverdale, N.Y. and Robert (Ann Marie) Byrnes of Mahopac, N.Y.. Six grandchildren, Christine (Robert) Swansen, Mahopac, N.Y., Brian (Jessica) Malone, Yorktown Heights, N.Y., Katie (Timothy) Geraghty Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., Ryan Byrnes Seattle, WA, Jimmy Byrnes Mahopac, N.Y., Brendan Byrnes Mahopac, N.Y. Seven great-grandchildren, Grayden, Declan and Nolan Swansen, Mahopac, N.Y., William and Connor Malone, Yorktown Heights, N.Y., Bryn and Kiera Geraghty, Briarclif Manor, N.Y..  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Peter Byrnes in 1994, brother Francis Flock and sister Dorothy Stark Costa. Due to the current health crisis there will be no visitation or funeral mass.  Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Hawthorne, N.Y.  The family will arrange a memorial service at a future date.
