Eugene P. DiBella

Eugene P.(Gene/Gino) DiBella of Beacon, N.Y. died on May 3, 2018. He was born on June 19, 1928 to the late Adele and Salvatore DiBella in New York City. Gene received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Fordham University in NY and worked as a research chemist for various New Jersey based corporations, authoring or co-authoring 32 United States patents, and 2 foreign patents in addition to teaching chemistry part-time at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife, Marylou (Holmes) DiBella, and his sister, Teresa (DiBella) Hagedorn. He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Kreger and Donna DiBella, by his two sons, Peter and James, and by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday 11 AM to 12 Noon. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY on Friday 12 Noon. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to either Catholic Relief Services, the American Heart Association, or the American Chemical Society Scholars Program.
