Esther Victoria Barcia 79, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on Jan.15, 2013. She was born on Jan.17, 1933 to the late Filipo and Maria (nee Capotosta) Marandola in Bronx, N.Y.
She married Gasper J. Barcia in 1951 and later moved to Hawthorne in 1962, where she raised her family and dedicated years of service to the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Hawthorne Fire Dept. In addition to her beloved husband of 61 years, she is survived by her loving children, Thomas Barcia of Ossining, N.Y., Marie Marcy of Hawthorne, N.Y., Johanna Carminucci of Brewster, N.Y. and Phyllis Garito of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. Also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Also surviving are her siblings,
Lucy Drake and Vickie Garrett both of Danville, IL, Benjamin Marandola of Chula Vista, CA and Anthony Marandola of Brookfield, Conn. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday, 3-6 PM and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Saturday, 10 AM. Entombment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
