Estelle Josephine Perlmutter

Estelle Josephine Perlmutter, 83, of Woodbridge, CT, formerly of New Rochelle and Rye Brook, died on November 1, 2013. She is survived by two daughters, Margie Benefico and her husband Vincent of Stamford, CT and Patricia Piascik and her husband Robert of Waterford, CT; her grandchildren, James, Julie and Nicole.
“Jo” as friends called her, graduated from Columbia University and worked as foreign language teacher at Mount Vernon High School for more than 25 years. She served on the Board of Directors of Columbia University’s Alumni Association and had also been the liaison for New Rochelle’s foreign exchange program with La Rochelle, France.
A funeral service will be held at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue., White Plains, NY on Saturday, November 23 at 11am. Interment will be at White Plains Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org would be appreciated.
