Ersilia Olivieri

Ersilia Olivieri, 98, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 9, 2016. She was born in Colledimezzo, Italy on October 13, 1917 and was married to Nicola Olivieri on January 8, 1939. In 1947, she emigrated to the United States and, with her husband, his brothers and their wives, helped to establish Elmsford View Farms. She will be remembered for her inexhaustible work ethic, her passion for the well-being of her family, and for her devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mother. Ersilia was a parishoner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and a member of the Elmsford Senior Citizens.

Ersilia is predeceased by her husband, Nicola, and a sister, Gina DeLaurentiis. She is survived by her three children, Anthony (Angel) Olivieri of Elmsford, Roger (Sandra) Olivieri of Wappingers Falls, and Theresa (Frank) Alfero of Matthews, NC, as well as her sister, Gemma Vizioli of Colledimezzo, Italy. She will be missed by her eight loving grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Ersilia will be remembered and honored at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home at 72 East Main Street, Elmsford, NY on Tuesday, July 12, with visitation from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A mass of Christian burial will follow on Wednesday morning at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 59 East Main Street in Elmsford, NY. Entombment ceremony to follow immediately at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation in her name to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Elmsford, NY.
