Elizabeth A. (Duryea) Lawrence

Elizabeth A. Lawrence 77, of Thornwood, NY, died on April 20, 2023. She was born on May 14, 1945 to the late John and Frances (Murphy) Duryea in Brooklyn,  NY.  Several years after graduating from high school,  she met and married the love of her life, James (preceded in death October  2016).  She worked as a retail store manager for Sears Roebuck and Company for 25 years. She was a long time parishioner of Holy Rosary Church. One of her many joys was teaching religious education for the parish.  She also loved reading and gardening.

She is survived by her loving children,  Christopher (Tina) Lawrence of Cortlandt Manor, NY, Alexandra (Sandi) (Peter) Gallo of Cortlandt Manor, NY and her two sisters in law, Lucille Detscher and Kay McGiver.  She is also survived by her four beloved grandchildren,  Bria, CJ, Peter, and Amanda.  They were her pride and joy!  Elizabeth was predeceased by her sister Mary Lucy (Duryea) Kyviakidis.
