Elizabeth Borho

Elizabeth "Betty" Borho of Briarcliff Manor, NY died on December 26, 2009, surrounded by family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years Robert, on December 30, 1999. Betty is survived by her six loving children Robert, Jr., James (Brenda), John (Diane), Peter (Connie), Donald (Scott Rogers) and Jane (John Valentine). Born in White Plains, NY on July 17, 1926 to Bessie M and Chester Van Wert. Betty graduated from Briarcliff High School where she was known for her love of sports and her talent as a performer in numerous school dramatic productions. After her marriage on July 1, 1950 Betty passed on her love of athletics to her children and enthusiastically supported their pursuits wherever they played. She was known to members of the Briarcliff community for her warm, caring, loving manner to all she came into contact with. In addition to her children, Betty is survived by 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandson, numerous nieces and nephews and her sisters in law Audree Farrington and Victoria Van Wert as well as her brother in law Raymond Borho. She also leaves behind her dear friends Ruth Weldon, Grace O'Hagan and Trudy Miller and Jane McMahon. Reposing at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532 on Wednesday, December 30th from 5 to 9pm. Services at the funeral home on Thursday at l0am. Interment following at Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains, NY.
