Elinor Melody

Elinor A. Melody (nee Lowd) 97, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on March 25, 2012 at her residence. She was born on July 31, 1914 to the late Charles and Isabelle (nee Crawford) Lowd in Boston, Mass. Elinor was a retired school cafeteria worker with the Waltham, Mass. Schools. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Arthur T. Melody in 1953, and by her sister, Isabel Avigdor and brother, John E. Lowd. She is survived by her loving daughter, Elinor Ruis and son in law Thomas P. Sr. and by her cherished grandson Thomas P. Ruis, Jr. all of Hawthorne, N.Y. Also survived by her two nieces and three nephews. Services will be held at a later date in Waltham, Mass. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Phelps Hospice, 701 No. Bway Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. 10591 would be appreciated.
