Elena Colapietro Burke led a rich and active life until her very last day. She was dedicated to her family, fiercely loyal, and unconditionally-loving to her daughters, Susan and Lynne, her grandsons Bryan and Jake, and her sons in law Alan and Gary.

She embraced people wherever she went, and always searched for the good she could find in them. Ellie was passionate about her friends and encouraged them to strive to be their very best, both professionally and personally.

Ellie lived her life as a progressive, independent woman who always championed the less-advantaged among us. She was a faithful employee of Blythedale Children's Hospital for the past eighteen years. Ellie held many jobs over her lifetime. All brought her fulfillment and a sense of accomplishment.

Each day Ellie had stories to share both funny and personal, that made all of us feel better. She had a way of squarely telling you how she felt about an issue or better yet, how you could go about improving yourself"� and then she would offer you a piece of candy and her winning smile!

So now that we are without this incredibly spirited, sympathetic woman, let's cherish the memories we have of her, and toast her journey into the next life.
