Eleanor DeLuca, loving mother of Michael (Eileen) and Mark (Tania) DeLuca, passed away on Saturday, July 29, at the age of 84.
Eleanor was born on April 23, 1939, to loving German parents, Edmund and Anna (Wolf) Seufert, in the Bronx. She was influenced by her family to be a kind and caring woman, and she incorporated these qualities into her marriage and motherhood. She met and fell in love with her late husband, Anthony “Don” DeLuca, at the tender age of 14, and their shared values and strong love for family would lead them down the aisle on June 7, 1959.
Eleanor was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She always thought of others and frequently had a gift or little “trinket” to let you know how much she appreciated you. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Diane) Seufert who will miss their shared reminiscences of childhood and spirited political debates.
Eleanor lived through some of the world’s most significant events, from the beginning of World War II to the 9/11 attack on New York City. She was known to always have an interesting story to tell and especially loved sharing them with her grandchildren, Matthew (19), Michael Ryan (15), Lauren (13), Kristen (13), and Maxwell (13). She had a fascination with history and loved watching The Story Channel.
