Eileen Quinn

Eileen Rita Quinn of Elmsford, NY passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013 at her home with her family. Eileen was born on October 4th, 1929 in the Village of Elmsford where she lived her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Georgina Moroney and was the last surviving sibling of ten children.

Eileen attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School and Alexander Hamilton High School, both of which she graduated with honors. She married the love of her life Michael Bernard Quinn and together raised their five children Michael, James, Robert, Eileen and Brendan in Elmsford. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren; Trisha, James, Matthew, Michelle, Patrick, Fynn, Dillon, Joshua, Kiera, Brendan Patrick and Fursey and two great grand children, Nico and Madison, the apples of her eyes.

Everyone who knew Eileen would agree that she was a positive, loving, cheerful and proud role model for both her children and grandchildren. Eileen had a zest for life and an incredibly strong faith that sustained her through life's adversities. She never missed an opportunity to use her talents in singing, dancing and writing to bring joy and love. Eileen is a lady that will be truly missed and fondly remembered as a shining star!

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford on Friday, June 14th at 10:00AM. Friends and family may call on Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 72 East Main Street, Elmsford, NY. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
