Ehrenfried (Fred) Klingebiel 89, of Hawthorne, N.Y. affectionately known as Opa, died on Nov.12, 2017 at his residence. He was born on Oct.6, 1928 to the late Emil and Anna (nee Baumgart) Klingebiel in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served proudly in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Fred was a retired Draftsman with Miller Druck/Domestic Marble in NYC where he was involved in the design of many Distinct Landmarks throughout the world. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Christel (nee Draheim) Klingebiel in 2012 and is survived by his loving children, Heidi (Mike) Mele of Hawthorne, N.Y., Michael (Jennifer) Klingebiel of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Christel (Eric) Trulson of Suwanee, GA., Kenneth Klingebiel and Robin Bee both of LasVegas, NV. Also survived by his eight cherished grandchildren, Mike, Stephanie, Courtney, Aaron, Anna, Alex, Katie and Dennis. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service, Faith Lutheran Church, Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. on Friday,10 AM. Interment, Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
