Edwin D. Harrison

Edwin Dennis Harrison, Sr., long-time resident of Mt. Pleasant, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family at the age of 91. His life was exemplary having served in the U.S. Navy Air Corp, as president of the Holy Rosary chapter of the Holy Name Society, as well as the first president of the Hawthorne Elementary School Board, where he spearheaded the formation of a centralized school district and the construction of Westlake High School. He also held leadership roles on the Recreation Commission, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Little League and Cub Scouts. His legacy has made a lasting imprint on our community. He is predeceased by his wife, Virginia and survived by his 7 children, Edwin D. Harrison, Jr. (Lee), Virginia Anniccharico (Joe), Timothy Harrison (Chris), Joseph Harrison, Denise Negrey (Bob), Marykate McCabe (Tom), Jeffrey Harrison (Laura), 20 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Friday, 10 AM. Interment, All Souls Cemetery, Pleasantville, N.Y..
