Edward Leonard Schultz, 75, passed away after a brief illness May 6, 2020 in White Plains Hospital.

Edward was born in Brooklyn, NY to Samuel and Ruth Schultz on July 25, 1944. He attended middle and high school at Horace Mann in Bronx, NY, graduating in 1962. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in 1966. For 45 years he worked at Allan M. Block Agency in Tarrytown, NY, a local insurance firm, advancing from employee to co-owner with a focus on commercial business. He retired in 2017. He had a broad and eclectic taste in music spanning from jazz to blues to opera. In his spare time he enjoyed playing tennis, following politics and rooting for all the New York sports teams (no matter how well or poorly they performed). He had a sharp sense of humor, loved to make others laugh and supported multiple charities. You could always find him getting to know every dog he met and spoiling his Wire Fox Terriers, Beasley (and previously Boswell and Duffy).

Edward is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Ruth Schultz; his brother Benson Schultz; and his daughter Stephanie Schultz.

He is survived by his wife Vicki (Poole) Schultz; his daughter Jennifer Schultz and her partner Michael Jenkins of Royal Palm Beach, FL; his sisters-in-law Susan Schultz, Jacqueline Lebron, and Rebecca Shellhammer; his nieces Marla (Schultz) Grossman and Lauren (Schultz) Postyn; his nephews Jonathan Schultz and James Lebron; and his wife from a previous marriage, Cynthia (Schaffer) Morabito.

In deference to the COVID-19 emergency, there will be no onsite visitation or memorial service or graveside service. Instead, a live stream funeral service broadcast will be provided by Ballard-Durand Funeral Home of White Plains, NY. Over the coming days, date and time will appear on https://ballarddurand.com/obit/edward-l-schultz/ . In due course, a hyperlink enabling playback will appear.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or food bank or pet charity of your choice.
