Edward J. Santoro

Edward J. Santoro 90, of Thornwood, N.Y. died on July 27, 2015. He was born on July 25, 1925 in White Plains, N.Y. Edward proudly served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific, European, and North African Theatres manning the USS Vance. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Mary (nee Pennelle) Santoro in 2013 and is survived by his loving children, Edward Santoro of Ridgefield, Conn., Susan Santoro of Carmel, N.Y., and Janet Santoro of Cold Spring, N.Y. and one brother, Ernest ("JR") Santoro of White Plains, N.Y. He is also survived by his five cherished grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His grandson Jeffrey and wife Cara held a very special place in his heart. He was so loved by his nieces, nephews and dear friends. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Innocents Church, Pleasantville, N.Y. on Saturday, 10 AM. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y.
