Edward L. Owen, Jr

Edward L. Owen, Jr. 89, a 55 year resident of Valhalla, N.Y. and most recently of Taylorsville, NC where he died on July 4, 2011. He was born on Oct.14, 1921 to the late Edward and Alice (nee Murphy) Owen in Westbury, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII in the South Pacific Theatre. Mr. Owen retired from AT&T after 35 ½ years. His career took him through a number of departments sales, personnel, labor relations and overseas communications. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Ruth Owen in 2011, after 64 years of marriage. He is survived by his loving children; Carol Rasmussen, Christine Clanin and John Owen. Also survived by his ten cherished grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Friday 10 AM. Interment, Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
