Edward J. McCabe

Edward J. McCabe 88, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on Nov.17, 2014 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He was born on Feb.1, 1926 to the late Edward and Esther McCabe in NYC. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1944-1964 as chief radioman. He was past president of the Holy Name Society of Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne, N.Y. an avid Yankee Fan and loved to cook. Ed was predeceased by his devoted wife, Rita Ann McCabe in 2009 and one brother, James and one sister, Rosemary. He is survived by his three loving daughters, Rosemary McCabe of Hawthorne, N.Y., Loretta (Louis) Beaird of Cape Coral, Fla. and Patty (Danny Piotrowski) McCabe of Ossining, N.Y. also survived by his four cherished grandchildren, Billy, Jessica (Michael Kowalski) Beaird and Nicole and Kenny Gendron and one great granddaughter, Abby. and his favorite cat, Missy. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Friday, 10 AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers donations to SPCA of Westchester, 590 North State Road Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. 10510 would be appreciated.
