Edward Robert Collier, of Milan, NY, longtime resident of Westchester County, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was 85. Edward was born April 9, 1930 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Joseph A. Collier and Grace Duncan. He married the late Shirley Collier (Galasso) and worked as a Water Treatment Operator at the Westchester County Environmental Control in Rye for 39 years. Surviving are his three children Barbara Tobin, Lynn (John) Gallagher, Jay (Ann Marie) and his five grandchildren David, Joshua and Cody Gallagher, and Maggie and Shane Collier. Also surviving are his sister Helen Collier and brother Jerry (Pauline) Duncan. He was predeceased by his son in law Thomas Tobin, his step-father Harold Duncan, his brothers Joe Collier, Freddie, Frankie and Charlie Duncan, and his sister Grace (Sis) Collier (Murphy). Edward liked hunting and fishing with his son Jay. He loved being outdoors and could always be found working on some project or reading a book at his house on Spring Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:00AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church in West Harrison. Friends may call Sunday May 31, 2015, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue at South Broadway, White Plains. Interment will be in the White Plains Rural Cemetery.
