Edith M. O'Brien

Edith M. O'Brien of Ossining, formerly of the Bronx died on August 24, 2013 at her residence. She was 94. Mrs. O'Brien retired from IBM in 1986 after 24 years of service. She was born June 29, 1919 in the Bronx to Bertrand J. and Edith Boden Masterson. In April 1942 she Married James J. O'Brien in the Bronx. She lived in Ossining for the past 35 years and was a parishioner of St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor. She will be remembered for her family and especially the grandchildren. Surviving are 4 daughters Jean (Jeff) Glaser of Rockville Center, Patricia O'Brien of Riverdale, Marie (Richie) MacVeigh of Rockaway Beach and Barbara (Larry) Reilly of Briarcliff Manor. 8 Grandchildren Jim, Jill, Kelly, Brian, Megan, Dennis, Kyle and Shannon and 3 great grandchildren. Family members who died earlier include her husband in 1957 and 1 brother Walter Masterson. Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY. Funeral Mass is Wednesday 10 am at St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor. Interment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
