E. Burton Kerr

E. Burton Kerr, 89, of Briarcliff Manor, New York, passed away on February 20, 2023, after a heart attack.

Burt was born on December 30, 1933, to Harry and Rose Kerr in Camden, New Jersey. After Burt graduated from Camden High in 1951, he went on to study Business at Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.

After graduating, he attended Temple Law School at night as he worked during the day. He received his Master's in Taxation from New York University of Law. He then joined Cohen, Shapiro, Shiekman and Cohen. Eventually he was awarded a partnership. Then joined Alloy, Silverstein, Kulzer and Depadova. He retired on December 31, 1999.
In 1959, Burt met Gloria Frank on a blind date. Burt and Gloria went on to have two children, Cindy Hershon and Stuart Kerr.

In 1994, Burt married Hope Silvera, and gained two stepchildren, Jodi and Mark.  After Burt's retirement, he spent his time playing, golfing, running, and bike riding. He continued playing poker, gin rummy, Rummikub and backgammon; taking classes on opera and political science, right up to the time of his death.

Burt was predeceased by his late wife Gloria, his father Harry, and his mother Rose. He is survived by his wife Hope, his children Cindy, Stuart, and stepchildren, Jodi and Mark, and his brother, Morty, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday, February 23 at 12:00 PM. Following the service, Shiva will be held at The Club at Briarcliff Manor, 25 Scarborough Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY. Virtual services will also be made available at the following Link .
