E. Robert Giuntini, 92, of White Plains, New York, passed away on March 16, 2016. Born on August 27, 1923 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and a first generation American whose parents, Elvira and Tacito Giuntini, emigrated from Riparbella, Pisa in Tuscany, Italy. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth McNulty Giuntini in 2010, his son Father Robert J. Giuntini, in 2010 and his daughter, Patricia Giuntini Loh, in 2003 as well as his sisters, Ginna Duffy (2005) and Anna Ferraresi (1983) of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He is survived by his daughter, Maureen Jarvis and her husband, Bob Jarvis, of Wilmington, DE and his son, Daniel M. Giuntini, and his wife, Christie Giuntini, of Somers, NY, his four grandchildren (of whom he was especially proud) R. Michael (Mike) Jarvis and his wife, Carol Beckman, of Swarthmore, PA, Lara Jarvis of Wappingers Falls, NY, Jaclyn A. Giuntini of Somers, NY, and Daniel (D.J.) Giuntini Jr. of Somers, NY and three great-grandchildren, Quinn Jarvis, Colin Jarvis and Rhys Jarvis all of Swarthmore, PA. Special thanks and love to his beloved angel, Ann Kellnhauser. Bob served in he U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in the 11th Fighters Command. After his discharge in January, 1945, he attended St. John’s University and received an LLB in June, 1951 and a Juris Doctor degree in June, 1968 from St. John’s School of Law. Originally employed with insurance companies in various positions, Bob entered private practice in 1961 in New York City, handling both civil and criminal matters including all phases of litigation, trials and appeals and has acted as Referee and Guardian in various proceedings in Surrogate’s Court. He opened his office in White Plains in 1963 and continued his practice until December, 2013. Bob was admitted to the Eastern and Southern District and the Supreme Court of the United States, was a member of the New York State, Westchester County and White Plains Bar Associations and their sections of Real Property, Matrimonial, Elder Law, Trusts and Estates. He was a member and associated with numerous community activities and during the past fifty (50) years has been chairman for several years of the United Way of West Harrison and Catholic Charities, St. Anthony’s Church of West Harrison, a member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as President of the West Harrison Republican Club. He has also been District Governor of UNICO National Club, Chairman of West Harrison Community Chest and Trustee of the Union Free School District of Harrison.
During his law practice of sixty-two (62) years, Bob was awarded the highest rating in both Legal Ability and Ethical Standards by his peers. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18th from 5-9pm at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue at South Broadway, White Plains, New York. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 19th at 9:30am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 148 Hamilton Avenue, White Plains, New York followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla.
