SEIMON, Leonard
Born in Krugersdorp, South Africa, 19 September 1933. Died Woodbridge, CT, 19 September 2018. A gentle patriarch, Lenny lived a magnificent life, one of joy, accomplishment and boundless generosity, all infused with his irrepressible humor. An MD by age 22, he was a deeply compassionate surgeon who embodied the ideals enshrined in the Hippocratic oath, and a beloved and revered teacher. For almost 40 years he was Professor of Orthopedics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In his youth he was a fierce water polo player who helped earn his country the gold at the 1953 Maccabi Games. He lived his life deeply in love with his wife Sandra, and was an exceptional father to Jon-Marc, Simone, Anton and Tamsyn, and a fantastic grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin, son, nephew and in-law. Services will be held at 2pm on 20 September, 2018 at Sharon Gardens, 273 Lakeview Ave, Valhalla, NY 10595.
