Dorothy (Dotty) Williams 90, of NYC died on Nov.11, 2019 in Aventura, FL. She was born on April 25, 1929 to the late John and Mathilda (nee Minella) Zompero in Cincinnati, Ohio. She starred on “Your Pantomime Hit Parade” and the “Dotty Mack Show” on WCPO-TV, the old DuMont network and ABC with Bob Braun and Colin Male. Al and Wanda Lewis, later known as TV’s “ Uncle Al” and “Captain Windy” drew background scenes on huge sheets of paper. Mack listened to records at her Westwood home, and studied lyrics typed by a co-worker. During live TV broadcasts, someone off camera read the words for her to mouth. The Dotty Mack show was originally broadcast on the now defunct DuMont Television Network in 1953, and on ABC from 1953-1956. At her peak, she earned $1000.00 a week. Moved to New York in the late 1958 to be the “Girl Friday” host for Dick Van Dyke’s “Mothers Day” show on ABC. In 1960, Mack married New York Radio Personality William B. Williams. She has lived in Miami since her husband died in 1986. Dorothy is survived by her loving son, Jeffrey Williams of NYC and also survived by her sister, Phyllis Seger of Cincinnati, Ohio and by her niece, Vicki Currin and nephew, Stephen Beckman and her cat, Bella Blue. Predeceased by her step father, Philip Macaluso, and a sister, Josphine Beckman. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday, 11 AM-12:30 PM. Where funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM.
