Dorothy W. Mercatante

Dorothy W. Mercatante 83, formerly of Valhalla, N.Y. and most recently of Poughkeepsie and Carmel, N.Y. died on March 30, 2018. She was born on July 29, 1934 to the late Richard and Dorothy (nee Coleman) Dykstra in Ossining, N.Y. She was a former member of the Valhalla Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Dorothy was predeceased by her devoted husband, Nicholas Mercatante in 2009 and is survived by her loving daughters, Donna (Stephen) Hoag of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and Debra (Joseph) Buonassisi of Thornwood, N.Y.  also survived by her eight cherished grandchildren, Joseph (Tiffany), Katie (Gianni) Velardo, Kimberly and Keri and Emily, Megan, Russell (Kristen) and Samantha and seven great grandchildren. Entombment of her Ashes will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in the future. In lieu of flowers donations to Rosary Hill Home, would be appreciated.
