Dorothy Mehl

Dorothy M. Mehl of White Plains, NY, died December 29, 2009 in White Plains, NY. She was 90 years old. Dorothy was born December 3, 1919 in Fremont, OH, to Henry C. and Helene D. Mehl. She lived in Lakewood, Ohio, prior to moving to White Plains in 1937. Dorothy graduated from White Plains High School and attended Grove City College. She was employed at Mobil Oil Corporation for 30 years as an executive secretary. A member of the White Plains Presbyterian Church since 1937 Dorothy served as the church secretary, Ruling Elder, Deaconess and member of the Woman's Association. Dorothy also served as a Red Cross Nurse's Aide during World War II. She volunteered at the White Plains Hospital Center for many years and served on the Board of Directors of the White Plains Hospital Auxiliary. Dorothy was a member of the Woman's Club of White Plains since 1971 and served on the Board of Directors as well as Recording Secretary for several sections. Surviving are her niece, Ann D. Paltridge, and several cousins.
