Dora Arturi Chiodo 88, of West Harrison, N.Y. died on April 22, 2011 at Calvary Hospital in Bronx, N.Y. She was born on Jan. 22, 1923 to the late Francesco and Rosa (nee Aloi) Arturi in Marcellinara, Catanzaro, Italy. Dora lived in Italy until 1949 and then in England until 1973 and then emigrated to the USA in 1973. She worked as a seamstress for Bloomingdales Dept. Store in White Plains, N.Y. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Luigi Chiodo in 1966, and by her granddaughter Annmarie and two brothers Guiseppe and Frank Arturi. Dora is survived by her loving children; Rinaldo (Diann) Chiodo of West Harrison, N.Y., Frank (Carmela) Chiodo of Richfield Springs, N.Y. and Ivana (Joseph) Raneri of West Harrison, N.Y. one brother Costantino (Julia) Arturi of West Harrison, N.Y. and one sister Maria (Ciccio) Iacopino of Italy. Also survived by her sister in law Francis Arturi of West Harrison, N.Y. and by her five cherished grandchildren; Danielle, Louis, Frankie, Jennifer and Nicholas. And many nieces and nephews. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass, St.Anthony of Padua Church, West Harrison, N.Y. on Wednesday 10 AM. Entombment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to Calvary Fund Inc. P.O. Box 5173 Toms River, N.J. 08754-9944 would be appreciated.
