Donato (Danny) Rocco Mastropietro passed away on June 28, 2022 at the age of 94 after several months of declining health. He died peacefully while his family watched over him at White Plains Hospital.
Danny was born in the Bronx on December 22, 1927 to Sabato Mastropietro and Domenica (nee Venditto) Mastropietro. The family settled in East Irvington where his father procured a parcel of land and built the family home. Dan graduated from Irvington High School in 1946 and went on to work in the Teamsters Union for various corporations including Hercules, Mack Truck and Walsh Plumbing and Heating. He served in the army during the Korean War.
Being known for his great skills and talent in crafting, fixing, and building just about anything, Danny was always willing to help others with his abilities. He utilized many of these talents at the Washington Irving Boat Club in Tarrytown where he also enjoyed time spent on his boats. He was also known for his practical jokes and sense of humor and enjoyed good times with his family and friends over fine wine and a full table.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Grace Immediato Mastropietro and her children, Peter Immediato (Julie) and Laura Brower (Neil) and by Dan's children Marilyn Roane (Robert), Michael Mastropietro, Alexis Diane Prince (Cliff), nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and his brother Joseph Mastropietro and his wife, Doris, and their family.
A funeral mass will be said for Danny on Tuesday, 7/5, 10AM at St Anthony's of Padua Church in West Harrison immediately followed by a private burial at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
