Donald Goodwin Prout

Donald Prout, 79, of White Plains, New York, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family. Donald was born and raised in White Plains to Archibald and Helen (Knapp) Prout. Donald was a graduate of White Plains High School and Westchester Community College. He married Jane (Ewing) in 1960 and was blessed with two children. Donald was an electrician who worked for Delta Electric through Local 501/3 until his retirement in September of 2005. Donald enjoyed NASCAR racing and doing jigsaw puzzles. He was also an avid train enthusiast. Donald’s gardens were his pride and joy. He also loved working on many projects, there was nothing he could not build and he loved to share this with his grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his wife, Jane, son William (Kathleen), daughter Karen Dinardo (Chris) and three loving grandchildren, Taylor-Marie, William and Matthew Prout. Calling hours will be on Thursday June 25th and Friday June 26th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue at South Broadway, White Plains, NY. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at Ballard-Durand followed by interment at White Plains Rural Cemetery.
