Donald J. MacDonald 84, of Valhalla, N.Y. died on April 27, 2016. He was born on Nov.22, 1931 to the late Michael and Martha MacDonald in Bronx, N.Y. He was a graduate of St.Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada, and received a Masters Degree from Hunter College in NYC and also received a Professional Degree from Fordham University in Bronx, N.Y. Donald was a retired supervisor for the NYC Board of Education. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia MacDonald of Valhalla, N.Y. and by his loving children, Maura (John) McDonagh of Bronxville, N.Y. and Robert (Lori) MacDonald of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. also survived by his five cherished grandchildren, Caitlin and Meghan McDonagh and Emily, Sarah and Jenna MacDonald. Predeceased by his one brother, John MacDonald in 1980. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Saturday, 11:00 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
