He was born in Brooklyn, NY, February 20, 1925 to Vincent and Grace (nee Crino) Malara. Mr. Malara served in the US Air Force in India during World War II. Dominick worked for Woodlawn Lumber in the Bronx, Elmsford Interstate Building & Supply in Elmsford and White Plains, NY and Yonkers Raceway, Yonkers, NY. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Italian American Club, Thornwood Seniors and the Mt. Pleasant Seniors. A volunteer for Holy Name of Jesus Church Bingo, an avid Card player, Gardner and reader. Mr. Malara is survived by his wife Joan (nee Culhane) Malara of Valhalla, NY, two daughters Mary Ellen Malara-Liebman of Ossining, NY, and Joan Malara of North White Plains, NY, one son Michael Malara of Peekskill, NY. One brother Philip Malara of Hartsdale, NY three Grandchildren Alex Liebman, and Leanne and Johnna Malara. Pre deceased by two brothers Frank and Anthony Malara. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home Friday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Mass Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, NY. Saturday 10 AM. Interment Private.
