Domenick Scarcella

Domenick Scarcella 93, formerly of Hawthorne, N.Y. and Somers, N.Y. and most recently of Oyster Bay, N.Y. died on March 30, 2015. He was born on Dec. 15, 1921 to the late Giovanni and Agatina Scarcella in Messina, Sicily. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII and retired as an honored foreman with the New York Telephone Company in Bronx, N.Y. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Michelina (nee Rovello) Scarcella in 2003 and by his one brother and one sister. Domenick is survived by his loving sons, John A. (Eleanor) Scarcella of Lavallette, N.J. and Louis A. (Joanne) Scarcella of Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y. also survived by his four cherished grandchildren, Domenic, Marc, Andrea and Matthew and by his three great grandchildren, Brielle, John (Jack) and Elsie. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Holy Thursday, 4-9 PM. Funeral Blessing, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Good Friday, 10 AM. Entombment to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to either Alzheimers Assoc. or American Heart Assoc. would be appreciated.
