Dolly Braverman Harte, 96, succumbed to a long struggle, battling Alzheimer's Dementia, on December 31, 2020 in Westchester, NY.
She was born on March 12, 1924 in New York to Charles and Ceil Braverman and in lived in Cedarhurst & Lawrence, NY where she met and married George P. Harte in 1949 and raised a family in an apartment in Woodmere and then a house in Hewlett, NY.
Dolly raised 2 children, worked part time and attended college to obtain her Bachelor of Arts and a Master's degree in Education to become a 3rd grade school teacher where she taught for many years in the Hewlett-Woodmere School District. After retirement, Dolly and George relocated to Great Barrington, Ma. and became active members of the Hevrah community, where they cherished the new relationships they developed.
In 2005, Dolly and George relocated to a continuing care community in Sleepy Hollow, NY, where they resided until their passing.
Dolly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, teacher and girl scout leader who explored her creative nature with knitting and quilting, and was an avid swimmer.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Cipora Harte and husband Ira Huttner, Richard Harte and wife Laurie Goldberg Harte, grandchildren, Matthew Harte and wife Sagan Strodl, and Seth Harte, and wife Amber, and great grandchild, Levi George Harte.
She will be interned in Sharon Gardens in a private graveside funeral and greatly missed by her family and friends.
