Diedrich John Schnaars

Diedrich J. Schnaars 90, most recently of Port Charlotte, Fla. and formerly of Putnam Valley, N.Y. died on Oct. 5, 2010. He was born on Dec. 2, 1919 in Lubeck, Germany to the late Diedrich and Elisabeth Schnaars. During WWII, he was a member of the US Army Air Corps and a member of the 105th Airlift Wing Alumni Association. Diedrich later worked for the New York Air Guard at Westchester County Airport. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Millie) Schnaars in 1991 and a sister Wilma Foster. He is survived by nephews Bruce Foster and Craig Foster and niece Dianne Steinsdoerfer and five great nephews and great nieces. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday 11 AM- 12:15 PM. where funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM. Interment, Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
