Diana Puglisi Lamanno

Diana Puglisi Lamanno, 94, of White Plains, died at 4:36 PM, Friday, July 14, 2023 at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, NY. She was born January 20, 1929 in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, to Rosario and Rose Puglisi. She married and divorced Dr. Edward Lamanno of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and he survives.

Also surviving are her daughter Claudia Lamanno-Garcia of Scarsdale, two granddaughters, Victoria Garcia of Albany, and Alexandra Garcia of Scarsdale, NY. She is also survived by her nephew Michael (Valerie) Puglisi of Larchmont, NY, Catherine Puglisi (Bill Barcham) of New Jersey, Claudine Puglisi Cagwin (Thomas Cagwin) of San Jose, CA, Rosanne (Steve) McInerney of New Jersey, Thomas (Jacqueline) Murphy of Holbrook, Diana (Kevin) Brosnan of Middletown, NY, along with many other beloved family members.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved brother and sister, Alfred Puglisi and Nina Murphy.

Diana was a long time resident of White Plains where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Astoria, NY. She graduated from Long Island City High School in 1947. She went on to work at the Federal Reserve Bank as Office Manager of the Legal Department, and eventually resigned her position to join her husband in California. Later, she worked part-time at various lawfirms and colleges until her retirement at age 70. Her last employment was at The Lighthouse for the Blind, where she cultivated many friendships which would last a lifetime. She has always been a fervent member of the church community, first at St. Rita's parish in Long Island City, and then at St. Bernard's in White Plains.

She loved to cook, travel, read, do the crosswords, spend time socializing with friends, drink martinis, and most especially, spend time with her beloved grandchildren and daughter.

The family is currently putting together a memorial mass which will be announced soon.
