DeAnne Hintz

DeAnne Hintz 72, of Valhalla, N.Y. passed away on February 14, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, N.Y. She was born on April 8, 1937 to the late Alfred and Jeanette Cerreta in White Plains, N.Y. She is survived by her beloved husband and best friend George Hintz and daughters: Gail Hintz and Rosemary Hintz. She is predeceased by her daughter, Jeanette Hintz. After graduating from Good Counsel Academy, White Plains, N.Y. class of 1955, she went on to graduate from St. Francis Hospital, St.John's and Columbia University and became a nurse, specializing in Psychiatry. While maintaining a successful nursing career she raised a family and became the consummate volunteer. She was very involved with Girl Scouts, religious education and the Rosary Altar Society at Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. and most recently she enjoyed religious education at St. Patrick's Church in Armonk. She also became actively involved with Valhalla Ambulance Corps, becoming and emergency medical technician and and volunteering with the Corps for many years. DeAnne was also very involved with her beloved Good Counsel and the Sisters of Divine Compassion, where she was an active associate and Guild member. DeAnne was affectionately known by family and close friends as "bunny". Her positive spirit and warm smile will be missed, but DeAnne lived life to the fullest-her zest was contagious. The Family will receive friends at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday 5-9 PM. for a service and rosary. Funeral Mass, Our Lady of Good Counsel Chapel, White Plains, N.Y. on Friday 11 AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers donations to either Valhalla Ambulance Corps or Good Counsel Sisters of Divine Compassion, would be appreciated.
