David Whitefield

Mr. David M. Whitefield, Jr., peacefully passed away on June 3, 2024, in Montrose, NY at the age of 93. He was born to David and Margaret Whitefield on April 2, 1931, in White Plains, NY, and was a beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, and devoted Pet Parent.

David was a retired auto industry administrator. His prior service in the United States Air Force, where he served from 1952, until 1956, showcased his unwavering commitment to his country.

"The Righteousness of Christ is best produced in quiet, peaceful lives; the lives of people who work hard, live responsibly and express humility in their dealings with others". This was the essence of how David lived his life. He followed the path of righteousness, exuding qualities such as patience, humility, kindness, gentleness and compassion. His good-hearted nature was seen by everyone he came in contact with. He could always be depended upon to provide a helping hand. Those who knew him, considered him family. He had a great love and compassion for animals including his beloved, pre-deceased dogs Sunday, Britt and Pippi.

David was an Outdoorsman and Conservationist. He was an avid trout fisherman, bird watcher and horticulturist. David was a Patriot and New York Sports Fan, who never missed a Yankee or Rangers game.

David is survived by his nephew and niece Donald & Michelle Whitefield, and many friends.

A burial of ashes will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10am at the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
