Our Beloved David Andrew Grippo departed this earthly life on August 31st, 2023 and joined his family, friends and precious canines "Molly", "Shawnee" and "Winn Dixie" as well as his sweet cat "Magic" in heaven.
He is pre-deceased by Maryanne Grippo - Mother, Vincent "Moe" Grippo - Father and Vincent Grippo - Brother all of Rye Brook, NY; survived by his Son - Galen Grippo of Oregon State and Daughter - Imrah Grippo of Charlotte, NC and two grandchildren.
David was full of life and loved the adventure of seeing what was down the road or up the next hill. He would hike up a mountain with his camera at the ready or wait hours for the perfect capture. He was in awe of the beauty of this country and felt the best way to fulfill his dream of discovering it all was to get on his bicycle and ride, stopping at state and national parks starting from New York to California. During his travels is where he discovered his sense of belonging in the deserts of Nevada to the beautiful Ruby Mountain Range in which he hiked its entirety.
As a scholar he was constantly learning and was highly gifted with a photographic memory; In his younger years he graduated from Mamaroneck Highschool and proceeded to receive his MBA and a Journalism degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. He went on to become a lifelong practitioner of photography and photojournalism.
He loved to talk to the local people of the cities and towns he would find himself in while never meeting a stranger. He advocated and was a warrior for all aspects surrounding negative affects impacting the environment and the underdogs who had no voice.
David is a beautiful and complex soul who will be missed and remembered by all those that he touched in his life. He was a man of faith who spread the message of god's love and his love for the lord, Jesus Christ his savior.
