Daniel Siesel

SIESEL, DANIEL, of Sarasota FL and formerly of Somers and Mamaroneck NY died May 23, 2013. Daniel was born on July 29, 1931 to Harold & Frieda Siesel in Manhattan. An Eagle Scout, Danny graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and Union College, before serving in the Korean War. He later joined his brother Alfred as Vice President of the Harold J. Siesel Company; an advertising and public relations firm founded by their father. Together, Danny & Alfred led the Siesel Company for over 30 years. Throughout his life, Danny was always actively involved in civic and neighborhood organizations, sharing his ideas and knowledge for the betterment of his community. Danny was the beloved husband of the late Elinor Siesel, and life partner to Adelaide Hurst, brother of the late Alfred Siesel and loving father to Steven Siesel (Linda) and Diane Muratore (Stephen), and proud grandfather to Sarah, William (Amy), and Kevin Siesel, and Joseph, Thomas, and Patricia Muratore. A service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Noon at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY (914) 769-4404. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 80 Commerce Street, Hawthorne NY will follow. Donations may be made to Union College, College Relations, 807 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308.
